whatIf? PLUM featured in ESRI's 2007 Digital Communities Seminar

August, 2007. whatIf? Technologies' Population and Land Use Model (PLUM) has been featured in ESRI Canada's 2007 Digital Communities seminar, a selection of innovative solutions that enable municipalities to fully leverage their investments in geographic information system (GIS) technology. The annual seminar is hosted across several Canadian cities.

Paul Steenhof joins whatIf? Technologies
November, 2006. Paul Steenhof joins whatIf? Technologies as a Research Fellow through the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Industrial Research and Development Fellowship.
Dr. Steenhof holds degrees from Carleton University (PhD), University of Toronto (M.Sc.) and the University of Waterloo (Hon. B.E.S). He brings 10 years of research and consulting experience in the area of energy and environmental modeling and analysis to the firm. He has consulted for both industry and government on a number of issues, including: greenhouse gas emission baseline analysis, construction of energy scenarios, the development of tools for environmental analysis, and financial risk assessment. His current research program is focused upon developing and applying system-scale modeling to help inform energy and environmental policy, particularly as it concerns prospects for sustainable development within the energy sector in Canada.
He has been published in journals that include: Transportation Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Chinese Journal of Population, Resources and Environment, Energy Policy, Climate Policy, and Energy Economics.
Robert Hoffman named Chairman of the Canadian Association for the Club of Rome (CACOR)
November, 2006. Robert Hoffman, President of whatIf? Technologies has been named Chairman of the Canadian Association for the Club of Rome (CACOR). CACOR is a non-profit organization that promotes study and discussion among Canadians on the nature of world problems; including interacting contemporary challenges related to politics, economics, society, culture, psychology, technology and the environment - and the need to develop new policies, attitudes and courses of action to ensure a stable future for humankind .
